Our Mission

Mission statement:

The Boots on the Ground Veterans Motorcycle Fun Run was formally started in 2014 as the Friends of the Veteran’s Home Vet’s Motorcycle Fun Run which took over Todd “Speedy” Peterson’s POW/MIA Run out of Underwood, MN. In 2015 we decided to change the name to Boots on the Ground Veterans Motorcycle Fun Run to honor our veteran’s at the Minnesota Veteran’s Home in Fergus Falls. We are the only motorcycle fun run for this home. Proceeds from the day of our run are given to the Recreation Department at the home to help provide supper outings for the veteran’s to places such as the Legion, VFW, Elk’s Point, Eagles and for breakfast outings at The Big Chief Truck Stop and Family Diner. Proceeds also fund recreational outings to the Red Hawks Game, the Fargo Air Show, fishing and Friday nights at the I94 Race Track, bingo at the home, music and other activities in the home. The recreation activities are funded only by donations from the community, service clubs, organizations and The Boots on the Ground Veterans Motorcycle Fun Run. We feel that it is important for our Nation’s Hero’s to be able to enjoy these activities and to enjoy activities in the community. At the Fergus Falls Veterans home we average over 220 outings per year. We are honored to keep this event going to ensure happiness and show them our gratitude for fighting for our country.
